Looks and audio performance good enough to make the Man of Steel weep tears of joy - check out this all-new speaker system from Harmon Kardon - the GLA-55 2.0. Compact, stylish and audiophile pleasing in one nifty package we haven't seen a set of desktop speakers quite as cool as these.

Those looking for a stylish unique compact and powerful set of desktop speakers for your PC iTunes or iPod need look no further than the Harmon Kardon GLA-55 2.0 Speaker System. While the design fits right in with this holiday season we have a feeling these will continue to be conversation starters right through, say, 2012.

The way the audio controls and jacks are integrated makes this a beauty to behold (see photo below).

The GLA-55 speaker system delivers 110W (55 per channel) and near-reference quality audio performance throughout the frequency spectrum. More than a pretty face Harmon Kardon made sure that this system shares the DSP and high-end speaker components found in their line of audiophile speakers. Harmon Kardon is never known as ‘cheap’ but with all this punch laying below the surface you may be hard pressed to find regular boxy 3-way speakers with this combination of price performance and size, much less ones that look this cool.

Legacy Engineering has released a fun retro gaming joystick with the carefully-named "Classic USB Joystick Controller", an affordable and fitting tribute to old-school gaming. This lets you play Atari 2600 games on your PC or Mac.

The wizards at Legacy Engineer are keeping the Atari 2600 spirit alive with the Classic USB Joystick Controller – not only cool but surprisingly affordable. And they offer discounts if you purchase two or more. You can buy the Classic USB Joystick Controller direct from Legacy Store for $14.99. So you can play your favorite Atari 2600 games like Defender and E.T. on your PC with popular emulators such as MAME.

No word on whether these work with the PlayStation 3. We can just imagine playing Resistance 2 (PS3) with one of these things.

Until now the only game in town was the Stelladapter – a USB-to-Atari convertor allowing you to use real, vintage Atari joysticks on a PC (review here, buy online at AtariAge). However, at $39.95 this option is best for only the Atari purist … who nonetheless is playing Atari games on PC? Yeah, that doesn’t sound quite right to us either.

Kudos to Legacy for what looks like a great product.
